A domed storage box hand-painted in a rich raspberry-red with visible brushwork and a deliberately worn, layered finish. Fitted with wrought iron hardware — a fleur-shaped hasp, hinge, and arched swing handle on top — in the tradition of Chinese trunk boxes. Excellent as a decorative accent box on a console or bar cart. It is a very sturdy, handcrafted piece.
Picked up at an estate sale with a lot of high quality Chinese vintage and antiques.
