Charles Schneider - Le Verre Français
A wonderful French art deco hanging fixture in wrought iron with a nice Schneider Le Verre Français bowl in mottled coloured acid-engraved cameo glass. Made in the mid 20s. This model is called Mirettes. And is designed between 1922 and 1925. The bowl is signed Le Verre Français. Schneider made vases chandeliers table and night lamps with this pattern. I show a picture from the standard book Charles Schneider, le Verre Français - Charder - Schneider by Joulin and Maier page 113.
The beautiful shade is held by the original Schneider fixture in wrought iron. Schneider employed a blacksmith and had his own forge on his compound in Epinay France. Where wrought iron mounts for vases were made as well as fixtures for night lamps perfume burners and chandeliers. The typical shape of the Schneider forged iron pieces is easy to recognize.
The pendant light has a total height of 67 cm (26,4 inches) and the glass bowl has a diameter of 40,5 cm (16"). Contact me if you want the chandelier to have another height. The pendant light is in excellent condition. The shade is without chips or cracks and the iron mount has a nice patina. It is rewired with three American candelabra base sockets.
