In two sections, the top having a dome top chest with a brass carrying handle, and matching handles to the side, the front is fitted with a single drawer, both the dome top and drawer having inlaid ivory kite shaped lock escutcheons, with functioning lock and key.
The base is also fitted with a single drawer and kite shaped lock escutcheon, the stand also with corresponding brass handles, the elegantly tapered legs have a subtle bracket to each corner and terminate to brass castors.
Excellent original antique condition, this very elegant chest on stand is ready to grace your space.

Ince and Mayhew was one of the most prestigious and enduring London cabinetmaking partnerships of the Georgian era, operating from 1759 to 1803. Founded by William Ince (1737–1804) and John Mayhew (1736–1811), the firm was a major rival to Thomas Chippendale. They provided exquisite Rococo and Neoclassical furniture to the British aristocracy, they became masters of the Neoclassical movement during the late 18th century, largely influenced by their frequent collaborations with the famed architect Robert Adam.
