Charles Schneider - Le Verre Français
A large French art deco pendant light in wrought iron with a nice Schneider Le Verre Français bowl in mottled coloured acid-engraved cameo glass. Made in the mid 20s. This sought after model is called Halbrans (Wild ducks). Schneider made vases table lamps and chandeliers with this pattern. Which he designed between 1924 and 1927. The bowl is unsigned which often is the case with certain Schneider models. I show a picture of a Halbrans vase from the standard book on Charles Schneider by Joulin and Maier page 132.
The beautiful shade is held by the original Schneider fixture in wrought iron. Schneider employed a blacksmith and had his own forge on his compound in Epinay France. Here wrought iron mounts for vases were made as well as fixtures for night lamps perfume burners and chandeliers. The typical shape of the Schneider forged iron pieces is easy to recognize.
The pendant light has a total height of 66 cm (26 inches) and the glass bowl has a diameter of 45 cm (17,7"). Contact me if you want the chandelier to have another height. The pendant light is in excellent condition. The shade is without chips or cracks and the iron mount has a nice patina. It is rewired with three American candelabra base sockets.
