Muller frères & la Lustrerie Bruxelloise
A rare 1925-1935 Franco-Belgian art deco pendant light depicting peacocks. Made in nickel plated solid brass or bronze and clear frosted molded-pressed glass. The ball shaped shade is signed Muller frères Luneville.
The pendant is made by la Lustrerie Bruxelloise, a large lighting manufactory during the interbellum in Brussels. For most of its fixtures it used 'nacrocrystal' pressed glass shades produced by Val Saint-Lambert. But they also used Loys Lucha enamelled bowls to create pendant lights. And Muller peacock shades for sconces chandeliers lamps and pendants. The canope is stamped on the inside LB deposé, the foundry mark of Lustrerie Bruxelloise.
The fixture has a total height of 31,3 inches (79,5 cm). The shade is some 9,8" (25 cm) wide. The chandelier is in excellent condition. The mount is re-nickeled and patinated. And the lamp is rewired. It holds an American standard base socket.
