Presenting a magnificent, exhibition-scale piece of American studio glass by acclaimed artist Rollin Karg. Known for his commanding, high-tonnage glass manipulation, Karg masterfully balances immense physical presence with fluid, organic grace. This substantial, ovoid-form sculptural vase is a tour de force of color and weight, making it a dramatic focal point for a high-end art glass collection, modern mantel, or designer entryway.
The vase features a deeply saturated, vibrant ruby red opaque core that radiates warmth from within. Layered over this brilliant crimson base is a massive, multi-textured ribbon of stratified glass. Striking bands of cobalt blue, emerald green, crisp white, and earthy tones are masterfully pulled and swirled across the face of the vessel, evoking the fluid energy of cascading geological strata or molten currents.
True to Karg’s signature style, the piece is encased in thick, crystal-clear glass, giving it incredible optical depth and a magnificent, light-catching presence when displayed.
