They are composed of lids … Read more Important inkwell, offering two small receptacles in chased bronze with beaded friezes and plant decorations. They are composed of lids maintained by the back, and the interiors are gilded.
On the back, a young woman is seated, leaning on her left elbow, her right hand resting on her ankle. Looking down at the ground, she seems pensive. Her hair is pulled up and styled in a bun. A long drape hugs her silhouette, which we can guess is delicate, and leaves her shoulders and arms adorned with bare jewelry.
These three elements in silver bronze rest on a sea-green marble base. At the front, the latter is logically shaped as a bowl, creating a place initially reserved for feathers. We can also appreciate the movements of this terrace, generously cut in curves and grooved on its edges.
This beautiful decorative object ends with four half-ball feet, also designed in sea green marble.
This inkwell can remain close to its original function and accommodate pens, pencils and other writing-related accessories, or it can be reinvented, for example, as a surprising jewelry storage unit born of the Romantic era.
