Traditional Japanese soroban (abacus) handcrafted in Japan, dating to approximately the 1930s-1940s. The soroban has been an essential calculating tool in Japan since the 16th century and remained widely used in schools, banks, and merchant shops long after mechanical calculators appeared. This example features a dark hardwood frame with turned wooden beads and a desirable aged patina, making it equally appealing as a collector's piece or as décor for Dark Academia, Japandi, Wabi-Sabi, library, or office interiors.
