Not everything worth keeping was meant to be precious.
This mirror has hung in our family's homes across two generations, collected during my grandparents' mid-20th century travels and kept for its quiet authority. The frame is darkened antiqued iron — substantial, not decorative — with genuine rattan inset panels at the top and bottom that soften the metal's weight. The crown: a gently curved iron rail in the pagoda tradition, the detail that gives the piece its personality.
The two-tone effect — dark iron against the warm natural rattan — makes this piece unusually versatile. It reads as coastal in a light room, industrial in a darker one, and quietly Colonial in a more layered interior. Two hanging hooks on the reverse make installation straightforward.
Overall height 37". Frame 32"H × 24"W. Mirror glass 20" × 21".
This is a mirror that holds the room rather than just reflecting it.
