A finely worked antique lacquerware box in deep red, black, and gold, the lid decorated with a grid of roundels depicting mythical and zodiac animals (elephant, tiger, mythical creatures) within geometric borders, continuing onto the sides in a repeating floral band. Traditional Burmese "yun" incised lacquer technique.
Generous scale at 11" x 6.75", substantial enough to serve as a statement piece on a console or coffee table. A smaller matching box (9.25" x 5.25") with the same motif is also available — message me if you're interested in the pair.
