Carefully restored and intentionally preserved with its natural patina, the result is a characterful dining table, desk, or console table that blends history with timeless design.

The tabletop is made of solid reclaimed wood from a historic barn door. Knots, fine cracks, signs of wear, and the original iron hinges have been deliberately preserved, making each surface unique. After thorough cleaning, the wood was treated with natural beeswax and hand-polished. This created a warm, silky surface that beautifully highlights the vibrant grain.

The original Gritzner sewing machine frame, made of solid cast iron, was carefully cleaned and preserved. Its authentic patina has been fully retained. Characteristic features include the delicate ornamentation, the original foot pedal, and the large flywheel, which lend the table its distinctive industrial aesthetic. The frame forms a striking contrast to the warm wooden tabletop, blending rural craftsmanship with classic industrial design.

The combination of reclaimed barn wood and an original sewing machine frame creates a versatile piece of furniture. Whether used as a dining table for small spaces, a kitchen table, a café table, a desk, or a display table in retail settings, the table integrates harmoniously into industrial, loft, country, wabi-sabi, or cottage interiors. Boutique hotels, cafés, and creative workspaces also benefit from its authentic character.

In the Sinteins workshop, only conservation work was carried out. The wood was cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, while the cast iron was carefully restored and stabilized. The aim was not to remove signs of age, but to reveal their beauty and preserve the history of the material.
