Attribute-aligned with pieces imported by a renowned American importing company founded in 1936, they were sourced from high-quality metal foundries in India, an authentic vintage release distributed exclusively by Midwest of Cannon Falls. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the company became an industry titan in the American gift market. The broad, sweeping, multi-tined antler design with forward-facing brow tines is modeled after the classic signature of a mature European red deer stag or North American white-tailed buck. These pieces were made primarily for the Western US marketplace, a booming market where ranch houses and alpine cabin architecture thrived. Crafted with a traditional mold-casting process where molten metal is poured into a detailed form. Once cooled, they were finished with a deep, layered bronze and charcoal patina to mimic heavy antique museum bronzes, beautifully highlighting the textured fur and complex multi-point antlers. Reminiscent of historic European hunting lodges and classic Black Forest design, these bookends serve as a prominent design anchor for modern interiors. Weighing nearly 9 lbs total, they offer substantial heft to easily secure the heaviest hardcovers. They are the perfect functional accent for a moody, dark-academic study, a cozy mountain cabin mantel, or stacked on a rustic oak console table to bring an organic, outdoor element inside. See less

The structures are entirely solid, hefty, and stable, with all antler tines intact and unbroken. There are minor, slight scuffs, tiny spots of patina wear, and faint signs of cosmetic aging on the bases, all of which lend an authentic, time-worn character to the pair. The underside bases retain their original protective black foam/felt padding, which remains intact to protect your shelving from scratches; one base proudly features the original teal manufacturer sticker containing the official barcode and "Made in India" print. Structurally sound and well-proportioned for standard shelving, the pair measures 8 inches in height, 10 inches in width, and 14 inches in length/depth, with a substantial total weight of 8 lbs 10 oz. less
