We have been looking for one of these Swedish Dala Horse House Signs for years. And, we could not have found a nicer one than this with its original iron metal bracket and custom painted with a greeting and family name. The Dala Horse was first hand carved centuries ago from wood and painted in Sweden. This one is a sun-faded red with traditional Gustavian designs in Royal Blue, Canary Yellow, Black and White. The greeting is “Kom igen” which is a greeting of encouragement meaning “Come on, You can do it.” in English. On the back side is the family name of Linde. The horse is large and 2” thick. It hangs from it’s black metal original bracket. Dala Horses traditionally represent Happiness and these House Sign versions are said to bring joy to a home.
