Founded in 1844, the New York Yacht Club is one of America's most prestigious private clubs and has played a pivotal role in the history of competitive sailing and yacht design. For generations, the Club has been synonymous with excellence on the water and was famously associated with the America's Cup for more than a century.
Higgins & Seiter was one of New York City's premier luxury china, glass, and silver retailers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Founded around 1879, the firm imported and commissioned fine tableware from leading European manufacturers, including Mintons, for private clients, clubs, hotels, and ocean liners. They ceased operations in 1915.
