This classic was designed in the 1960s by Anders Pehrson for the manufacturer Ateljé Lyktan. While the Bumling series is usually known as a pendant lamp, this floor lamp version is a special piece for lovers of Scandinavian mid-century design. The design impresses with a multitude of ingenious details. The iconic silhouette is defined by the innovative frame made of bent steel tubing, which flows into an elegant, loop-like base. This base and the stem form a fluid, sculptural unit. The distinctive head, or shade, of the lamp can be flexibly tilted, allowing you to direct the light as needed – perfect as reading or task lighting. Another subtle detail: A narrow gap on the back of the shade allows a subtle glow to escape, beautifully illuminating the lamp even in the dark. The surface of the metal shade is painted brown, while the inside is matte white to optimally and powerfully reflect the light downwards. The base houses the fully functional foot switch, which is accented in elegant chrome and creates a striking contrast with the gleaming chrome details on the shade's joint. The lamp is in good, honest vintage condition: there are age-related marks on the paint, particularly noticeable scratches on the base. This patina gives the lamp its authentic, decades-old character. For your safety, we have rewired the floor lamp with a perfectly matching brown textile cable.
