Fernand Mourlot (1895-1988) has long been the acknowledged master printer of France in every field, from lithographs to fine books to posters. The unfailing quality of his work commands the respect of museums, collectors, and most important of all, the artists themselves. Every product of his workshop bears the mark of Mourlot’s discipline and craft and can truly be called an ideal collaboration between artist and artisan.
Roger Mühl (1929-2008) was a French painter and printmaker known for his landscapes and still lifes. He was born in Strasbourg, France, and studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Muhl's work is characterized by a sense of harmony and balance, and he often used muted complimentary colors and neutral tones, with soft brushstrokes, to create both atmosphere and physicality in his subtle compositions. His landscapes frequently feature the rolling hills and fields of the French countryside in Provence, while his still-lifes often depict simple objects such as fruit or flowers arranged in a way that suggests a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Throughout his career, Muhl received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the Prix de la Critique in 1973 and the Prix du Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1992.
His works are held in many public and private collections around the world. Our collection of his prints are classic examples of his work.
