Vertical white forms descend from the top edge and converge at a large open medallion at the center, all woven in sky blue silk using the resist-dye ikat technique. Narrow drip-like streaks frame the central composition on both sides, giving the piece a strong top-to-bottom directional pull that reads differently from any horizontal ikat repeat. Bold, symmetrical, and graphic in a way that works equally well as a single accent or paired with a solid.
Size: 16 x 16 inches / 40 x 40 cm. Cover only, insert not included.
Silk threads are bound and dyed before the weaving begins, so the vertical forms and central medallion build themselves into the fabric as the loom runs. Not printed; the pattern is woven directly into the fabric structure. The drip-like bleed lines running vertically across the field are an inherent characteristic of the ikat process.
