Characteristic doucine (ogee) frieze drawer, four drawers total, original cast brass rococo pulls and escutcheons with untouched patina, intact drawer locks, solid wood top. Hand-cut dovetail joinery throughout confirms period construction. Honest, original unrestored surface with wear consistent with age. The Louis Philippe style (r. 1830-1848) marked the turn from Empire formality toward comfortable bourgeois furniture: clean silhouettes, richly figured veneers, restrained ornament.
