A striking pair of vintage Japanese glazed ceramic Foo Dogs (Shishi) finished in a vibrant chartreuse-yellow glaze. Traditionally placed in pairs as symbolic guardians, Foo Dogs are believed to represent protection, prosperity, and good fortune.
Each figure is beautifully modeled with expressive features, curled mane details, and sits atop a stylized plinth. One guardian rests its paw upon a decorative sphere, while the other holds a cub—a classic pairing representing balance, strength, and protection.
