This remarkable modernist sculpture, standing 63.7 cm tall, represents a magnificent example of contemporary Italian glass art, individually handcrafted by an independent workshop in Murano. Free from the constraints of mass industrial production, this piece stands out as a unique gallery work (unattributed), showcasing exceptional technical virtuosity and striking visual impact.
Masterful Techniques: "Fenicio" Wave and "Calcedonio"
The globular base is enveloped in molten glass threads, masterfully combed manually using traditional tools to recreate the organic and fluid veins of natural agate and chalcedony stones. Striped waves of ivory and brown beautifully frame vibrant windows of pure crimson and cobalt.
Dynamic Fluidity
The elongated neck features a powerful and elegant spiral, hand-twisted to perfection. This fluid movement captures and bends ambient light, accentuating the thickness and quality of the transparent outer glass.
Incamiciato" Craftsmanship (Double Glass)
The inside of the neck is lined with a flawless layer of white opaline glass. This historical Murano technique acts as an internal light reflector, maximizing the depth and color saturation of the outer tones. With its substantial weight and a low, solid center of gravity, this monumental artwork functions perfectly as a spectacular floor sculpture or as a centerpiece for high-end minimalist, postmodern, or contemporary interiors.
