An elegant and authentic late Victorian chaise longue (also commonly referred to as a daybed or fainting couch in the United States), dating from approximately 1880–1900.

Crafted from solid walnut, this exceptional piece retains its original upholstery and traditional horsehair stuffing, making it a rare and highly desirable example of 19th-century craftsmanship. The beautifully sculpted walnut frame features graceful scroll carving, turned legs and original brass castors, all displaying a rich patina developed over more than a century.

The original antique rose woven fabric has been remarkably well preserved and beautifully complements the warm walnut frame. with its elegant proportions and authentic period character, this chaise is equally suited to a traditional interior, a refined contemporary home, boutique hotel or interior design project.
