A vintage Chinese sculpture intricately carved from rich green jade, featuring the Taoist deity Shou Lao (symbol of longevity), a deer (representing prosperity), peaches (symbols of immortality), and a finely detailed pine tree canopy. The deity stands beneath a sweeping arch of foliage and gnarled branches, rendered in exquisite relief with overlapping stylized leaves. The entire scene is dramatically supported by a coiled dragon-like base with scaled details, set on a carved wood pedestal. A stunning example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship, symbolizing harmony, long life, and auspicious fortune.
Provenance: Church of the Holy Family (Novi, MI). Proceeds of the sale will benefit the Holy Family Parish. Dimensions: 35.5"h x 36"w x 9.5"d. In good vintage condition with a few minor chips and breaks to the carving; full condition report available upon request.
