Presenting a striking, multi-dimensional wall sculpture by luxury home furnishings maker John-Richard. Originally purchased in 2005 from Neiman Marcus, this rare piece beautifully bridges late 20th-century Brutalist architecture and Postmodern geometric design. The sculpture is composed of layered, overlapping square mirrors. Each individual block features deep, elegant beveling that catches and refracts light from every angle. The offset, asymmetric composition is mounted on a low-profile structural grid finished in a subtle, coordinating gold leaf/paint finish. This thoughtful design detail ensures the outer edges and deep open architectural recesses gleam softly when viewed from different angles, enhancing its luxurious floating aesthetic. Perfect as a dramatic statement piece for a grand entryway, over a console table, or in a contemporary living space.
The mirror sheets were individually hand-silvered during this era. The glass panels are crafted with a subtle, built-in antiqued gold/champagne tint This manual process gives early-2000s John-Richard glass pieces a deeper, slightly warmer reflection over time compared to modern mass-produced laser-cut mirrors.
The gold trim along the edges is a signature element of John-Richard's Hollywood Regency and Brutalist Fusion collections. The grid base was constructed from furniture-grade medium-density fiberboard (MDF) to prevent warping from the extreme weight of the glass, then painstakingly hand-painted with a metallic gold leaf finish.
Features heavy-duty French cleat mounting brackets running both vertically and horizontally, allowing a buyer to hang it in either direction.
