A magnificent large orange "Fat Lava" vase by Carstens (West Germany), dating from the 1960s or 1970s; numbered 7315-45 on the base.
"West Germany" was essentially a collective term for ceramics released onto the market roughly between 1950 and 1990. Well-known names include Roth, Carstens, Ruscha, Jopeko, Jasba, and Fohr, though the biggest players were arguably Scheurich and Bay.
