Each sheet contains two finely engraved scenes illustrating key episodes from the lives of Joseph and Moses from the Old Testament, creating a rich visual chronicle of some of the Bible's most enduring stories. The engravings are after designs by Gerard Hoet and belong to the celebrated Dutch Baroque tradition of biblical illustration. The compositions combine dramatic storytelling with elegant classical architecture, expansive landscapes, and finely observed figures. The engravers employed delicate line work and subtle shading to create depth, movement, and emotion throughout the scenes.
