An exquisite early 20th-century Vienna bronze lamp depicting an Arab school teacher and four young students wearing typical Orientalist clothing, seated on a Persian carpet while studying in a tented schoolroom; attributed to Franz Xavier Bergman(n) (July 27, 1861 – January 1, 1936)
The surface of the bronze is enhanced with rich cold-painted colors and hand-finished detail, highlighting the quality of the casting and artistry.
The decorative urn positioned on the carpet rotates and serves as the original on/off switch for the lamp, cleverly integrating function into the design.
This model is unusual since it represents several figures in one setting.
