A beautiful form of folk art; anyone could create a tramp art object using whatever materials were at hand, which is why identical pieces are extremely rare. Consequently, these unique items are highly sought after and hold great value for collectors.

Tramp art is a style of woodworking that emerged in America during the second half of the 19th century. Defining characteristics include chip carving or incised carving, the repurposing of inexpensive or readily available wood (such as from cigar boxes and shipping crates), the use of simple tools like pocket knives, and the layering of materials into geometric shapes using glue or nails.

This object is in good, used condition. There is a small missing part on the side and minor losses of wood here and there; the lock no longer functions, but the piece still looks fantastic.
