Large vintage Scheurich vase, blue glazed ceramic with an orange "Fat Lava" band around the middle; West German pottery from the 1970s, numbered 408-40 on the base.
Rare in this color combination; blue German vases are the hardest to find.
"West Germany" was essentially a collective term for ceramics produced roughly between 1950 and 1990. Well-known names include Roth, Carstens, Ruscha, Jopeko, Jasba, and Fohr, though Scheurich and Bay were arguably the biggest manufacturers.
