The antique drop-leaf base features maple inlays added later, further enhancing its charm. The 20th-century upper part features a pair of paneled doors inlaid with maple scrollwork, a motif that harmoniously repeats across the entire surface of the piece. A central inlay of various woods depicts a rural scene with a lady and knight, a theme also found on the central drop-leaf door. This door, when opened, reveals an internal cabinet with five drawers and an open compartment. The base is completed by a pair of drawers and pulls that support the drop-leaf door, while the curved feet and wrought bronze escutcheons and handles add a touch of refinement. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
