This Monumental Chinese Chippendale-Style Carved Giltwood Opposing Dragon Center/Breakfast Table With 48-Inch Glass Top, Mid-20th Century has a sculptural center with a clear circular top and a base beautifully enriched with layered gold- and bronze-toned finishes. This visually theatrical furnishing has sufficient functional scale to serve as a breakfast, dining, center, or statement table in a room where it can be appreciated from all sides.
* Circular 48-inch glass top, with a polished-looking exposed edge with a greenish cast
* Handmade and carved giltwood base in the form of a cluster of opposing dragons of fish-like creatures with pronounced and projecting details and features, including scroll-shaped ornaments and fin-like elements
* Lower portions of the figures terminate in broad, foliate or shell-like feet, extending outward at the floor level
* Circular giltwood platform with scalloped or lobed underside lies above the carved base and serves as immediate support beneath the glass top
