Oil painting on canvas board of a Chinese junk at sea, its sails illuminated by the setting sun, a crescent moon and ‘evening star’ above in the oncoming nighttime sky.
I paint in the traditional style of old masters because I am drawn to the charisma of that era. Creating art is a patient ritual. At the heart of my process is the careful preparation of the painting surface. Ultimately my goal is for the person viewing my work to experience a pause, a moment to reflect.
