These 4 Daum Pate de Verre Four Seasons Plates from 1969-1970 are a set of stunning limited edition numbered 1286/2000 collector plates featuring the iconic colors of cobalt blue, amethyst purple, amber topaz, and emerald green. Made in France with the traditional Pate de Verre technique, these round plates with a diameter of 10.5 inches are a perfect addition to any collector's display.
The Daum "Four Seasons" (Les Quatre Saisons) pâte-de-verre plates were created by the French sculptor Raymond Corbin in 1969 and 1970. The limited-edition art glass collection was crafted using Daum's revived, ancient glass-paste technique.
Specific production years varied by the season depicted: Automne (Autumn): 1969, Hiver (Winter): 1970, Printemps (Spring): 1970, Ete (Summer): 1970
Design & Display Potential
Because of their substantial weight, depth, and three-dimensional relief, these pieces function beautifully as sculptural fine art rather than traditional tableware. When backlit, the translucent quality of the frosted pâte-de-verre catches the light brilliantly, making this complete set a magnificent choice for a custom-framed wall gallery, modern acrylic stands, or a lighted display cabinet.
