An original vintage illustrated page from the May 15, 1924 issue of the celebrated French magazine Fantasio (Year 19, No. 414). Created by illustrator Lorenzi, this full-page artwork accompanies the feature "Mariages d'Aujourd'hui" ("Marriages of Today") and is titled "À Quoi Rêvent Les Jeunes Filles?" ("What Do Young Girls Dream Of?").
Rendered in the elegant Art Deco style of the 1920s, the illustration offers a witty commentary on love, beauty, and wealth, accompanied by the satirical caption: "Plaire au Monsieur Très Riche au Profit du Monsieur Très Beau" ("Please the very rich gentleman for the benefit of the very handsome one"). Rich in period fashion and Parisian sophistication, it is an exceptional example of French illustrated magazine art from the Roaring Twenties.
A wonderful collectible for admirers of French Art Deco, vintage illustration, Parisian fashion, Belle Époque and Jazz Age ephemera, and original magazine artwork.
