These tins served as sales tins in the stores. In the front under the box there is a slot for a sign. Here was inserted the name for the type of coffee offered.
The roasting company was founded in 1880 by Josef Kaiser in his father's grocery store in Viersen and expanded in 1885 with the establishment of its own store in Duisburg.
With the production of a trademark based on a design by the Berlin artist Paul Böhm, the company received its logo "Die lachende Kanne" (The Laughing Pot) in 1904, which is still used today and was revised again by Peter Behrens in 1914, giving it its current appearance. The tin box shows only minor traces of time (light paint loss, 2 - 3 small pressure marks). Inside it is beautifully preserved. This piece has an attribution mark,
