Silk threads are bound and dyed before the weaving begins, so the pattern builds itself into the fabric as the loom runs rather than being applied afterward. Not printed; the pattern is woven directly into the fabric structure. The large oval forms visible on the face are a direct result of how the dyed yarn aligns during weaving; no two pieces come out identical. Slight irregularities in color distribution and repeat are part of the process, not defects. See less
