The chair carries all the hallmarks of the Federal Hepplewhite style: a tall serpentine-crested back, gracefully open scrolled arms on downswept supports, and square molded legs joined by an H-stretcher. The solid mahogany frame has a deep, well-figured finish, and the seat and back are upholstered in a lustrous gold/champagne strié — a vertical-stripe weave that catches the light beautifully.

A genuine designer-grade piece with the presence to anchor a study, reading corner, or as a statement desk chair.
