Designed by the celebrated Italian designer Paola Navone and manufactured in Italy by Baxter, the "Boîte" ("box") low table is … Read more Designed by the celebrated Italian designer Paola Navone and manufactured in Italy by Baxter, the "Boîte" ("box") low table is built around a hollow-core (tamburato) structure clad in antiqued and clouded mirrored glass — specified by Baxter as antiqued Murano mirror — finished with a leather edge trim and raised on shaped, folded sheet-metal feet. The antiquing is left deliberately visible and wax-finished, giving the mirror its soft, smoked, vintage character. The rectangular top is formed of three mirror panels divided by two clean seams, and the mirrored cladding continues down the vertical faces, so the table reads as a single reflective volume floating just above the floor.

The "Boîte" has been discontinued by Baxter and is no longer in the current catalog, making surviving examples scarce on the secondary market.

Provenance — screen-used: This table was used on the set of a 2015 Estée Lauder film featuring Kendall Jenner (the "Kendall Films" / "Zombies" spot), produced by the New York studio Piro, where it appears on-screen. It has remained in the original executive producer's possession since the production. (A still frame from the film showing the table, and the production credit, are available to a serious buyer.) The item appears to be unmarked.

Condition — disclosed honestly: The table is in great vintage/used condition consistent with its age. Two of the three top panels are the original Baxter mirror; the third was professionally replaced in 2016 by a specialist glass fabricator, using an antique mirror matched in person to the original pattern. The replacement is integrated into the top and the seams are consistent with the original two panels. All other surfaces show the expected light wear and the intentional antiqued finish.

Designer note: Paola Navone (Turin, architecture graduate 1973) is one of Italy's most influential furniture and interiors designers: winner of the Osaka International Design Award and named Architektur & Wohnen Designer of the Year. Known for blending traditional craft with bold, eclectic form across her long collaboration with Baxter. See less
