Description:
A color offset print created by German artist Horst Janssen for the exhibition 20 Jahre Galerie Brockstedt (“20 Years of Galerie Brockstedt”), celebrating two decades of the Hamburg gallery’s operation. The poster was produced to accompany an exhibition held from November 16 to December 17.

The composition is typical of Janssen’s experimental engagement with print media, balancing expressive figuration and abstraction within a graphic format. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. In very good condition with minimal handling wear.

Artist Biography:
Horst Janssen (1929–1995) was one of the most important German draftsmen and printmakers of the 20th century. Born in Hamburg, he studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (University of Fine Arts) under Alfred Mahlau. Janssen became known for his prodigious output of etchings, lithographs, and drawings, often characterized by sharp psychological observation and technical refinement. His work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the British Museum (London), the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and the Horst Janssen Museum in Oldenburg, which houses an extensive archive of his work. Galerie Brockstedt maintained a close relationship with Janssen throughout his career, regularly presenting his prints and drawings. See less
