Large Scale Surrealist Portrait in Acrylic on Board
Bold surrealist portrait by Robert William Hinds (American, b. 1926). This piece has a dream-like quality, with the subject standing in a stark forest landscape with red trees. Three box kites are floating behind him, with outlines of babies - possibly a reference to other selves, past lives, or childhood innocence. An argyle pattern is present throughout the piece, linking the subject to the kites.
Signed "Robert William Hines" along the bottom edge.
Presented in a silver-painted wood frame.
