Antique late 19th century George II style mahagony mirror with gilt detailing. The scalloped frame is adorned with rope style decoration and scrolling acanthus leaves around the glass.
The crest is topped with a gilted ancient figural subject, like a child, surrounded by acanthus foliage in the form of a shell or a plume.
This is a very unique mirror with a beautiful patina.
The glass mirror itself shows some age with some cloudiness, consistent with age.
