This antique dresser is constructed entirely of solid wood and retains its original five-drawer configuration with traditional dovetail joinery. All five drawers operate smoothly on their original wood slide system and open and close properly. During the restoration, one of the lower drawer bottom panels was professionally repaired to restore its structural integrity while preserving the dresser’s originality. The repair is solid, functional, and not visible during normal use. The dresser has been fitted with new premium brass and acrylic drawer pulls that complement the period design while providing reliable everyday functionality. The original keyhole escutcheons and lock mechanisms remain intact. Although the original key is no longer present, the locks are still installed, and a compatible skeleton-style replacement key may be purchased if desired. The professionally applied Old Chapel Satin Walnut™ finish beautifully highlights the original wood grain while preserving the character and craftsmanship of this late 19th-century piece. Minor evidence of age and previous use may remain, consistent with an authentic antique, and contributes to its historic charm.
