Rare Pair of Signed Dirk Van Erp Handwrought Brass Wall Vases / Architectural Wall Vessels
A rare matched pair of handwrought brass wall-mounted vessels by the renowned Dirk Van Erp workshop of San Francisco.
Each piece is beautifully executed in heavy hammered brass and features a striking geometric Greek key framework supporting two removable hand-hammered bowls with raised inner vessels. The sculptural design bridges the Arts & Crafts movement and early Modernism, making these both functional objects and remarkable examples of California decorative arts.

These large architectural pieces measure approximately 18½ inches wide by 16 inches high, with hand-hammered bowls measuring approximately 6½ inches in diameter with a 9 1/4 inch projection.
While their exact original purpose has not been definitively documented, they appear to have been designed as decorative wall vessels or flower holders and represent an uncommon form from the Van Erp workshop. Comparable examples are rarely encountered on the market.
The pair retains a beautiful aged brass patina and displays the fine craftsmanship for which the Van Erp workshop is celebrated.
