Lovely example of West African folk art in the form of this vintage hand-carved wall panel. The carving depicts a farm and village scene with villagers carrying crops in from the field. There are also huts, palm trees and tall grasses featured in bas relief. Around the scene is an intricately carved "frame" with alternating wave and block patterns.
I love the rich, red color of the wood and the detail throughout. It displays beautifully and offers a bit of charm, a bit of whimsy and all the vintage folk artsy vibes you could hope for.
Hand-carved African wood panel measures 27" wide, 9.5" tall and about 1" deep. It's in beautiful shape with no cracks or damage to the wood. Ready for display!
