This is a novel French regional buffet from the region of Vendée on the Atlantic ocean in Northwestern France. Made of solid chestnut, this piece is decorated with the typical emblem of the Vendée region, which is the cross motif standing above a heart.
The carvings are delicate and enhance both doors and drawers. The drawer fronts feature stylized birds, while the Vendée cross and circular motifs decorate the 2 doors. The legs are straight while the construction dates to the late 19th century. All decorative brass tacks and door hardware are original.
This buffet/credenza is an authentic French antique which will enhance any dining room, kitchen, or foyer.
