He helps to endure that game is plentiful and sufficient snow comes in the winter to allow a good harvest the following year. He holds a stick in one hand to imitate the front legs of a deer.
Filled with hand carved details, the cottonwood includes a moveable jacla necklace, banded kilt, waist bells and a ketoh cuff. The head is a white case mask with antlers, feathers and juniper ruff. The yellow painted body and red moccasins are traditional. With pueblo dwellings at his feet, this Hopi Deer Katsina Doll is artist signed and named on the base. See less
