A rare opportunity to acquire a complete, cohesive dining suite of exceptional quality. This stunning set pairs a monumental expandable round pedestal table with four custom curved Vanguard banquette seats, all upholstered in a coordinating crewekwork fabric and leather seats that ties the set together beautifully.
THE TABLE
A grand round pedestal dining table featuring a hand-inlaid Compass star, marquetry top in contrasting walnut tones with concentric banding detail. At 64 inches diameter without leaves, the table seats 6 to 8 comfortably. With its four detachable perimeter leaves installed, it expands to an impressive, 84 inches diameter seating 10 to 12 guests. A round lazy susan in glass is included. The turned baluster pedestal rises from a substantial octagonal platform base - craftsmanship consistent with fine makers such as Lorts or Woodland Creek. Approximately 17 years old and in very good condition with honest patina consistent with a well loved family Table. This was a custom made piece purchased through a furniture store in North Carolina as a prototype, therefore no maker’s mark is visible.
THE BANQUETTES
A set of four curved banquettes by Vanguard Furniture, handcrafted in Hickory, North Carolina. Upholstered in a rich, crewelwork tapestry in an ogival Paisley design featuring red, rust, brown, olive, and cream, with smooth ivory, leather seat, cushions for elegant contrast. Each piece features a gracefully curved back, scroll-carved walnut-finish wood arms, reeded wood frame, and turned reeded legs. Custom designed to curve around a large round dining table. They fit this table perfectly. The banquettes have been reupholstered two times over sixteen years and the Vanguard labels have been removed. Purchased from a furniture store in North Carolina.

The leaves are four arc-shaped extensions that sit on decorative and handcrafted pulls that come out from the table. The leaves rest on these pulls and then attach to each other and the table.
