Constructed with cherrywood veneer over a softwood carcass and retaining early handcrafted construction details including forged iron hinges, hand-cut shelf supports, original lock and key, and traditional joinery. The restrained architectural form and carefully selected veneer are characteristic of the mature Biedermeier period. The cabinet features later frosted glass panels and adjustable shelving, making it suitable for use as a bookcase, display cabinet, or linen press while preserving its historical character. See less
