An exquisite, early contemporary print from 1999 by the world-renowned, Oscar-nominated actor and artist Armin Mueller-Stahl. Titled "Blue Connection," the work combines an expressive, multi-layered color composition with a sophisticated collage element: a stamped commemorative postage stamp of film icon Marlene Dietrich. The work is hand-signed, dated, and titled by the artist on high-quality, heavy paper. It is housed in an elegant, black Nielsen gallery frame from a prestigious art dealer's collection.
This captivating original print from 1999 impressively showcases Armin Mueller-Stahl's distinctive, expressive visual language. In "Blue Connection," the artist masterfully combines deep, textured greens and teals with a contrasting field of vibrant orange and yellow.
The centerpiece of the composition is a striking collage element: an officially stamped German postage stamp bearing the portrait of film legend Marlene Dietrich, whom Mueller-Stahl deeply admired throughout his life. At the bottom of the image, the scene is supported by a rhythmic series of delicately drawn spade and linden leaf motifs.
The work is titled "Blue Connection" by hand in the lower left corner and signed and dated "A. Mueller-Stahl 99" in liquid ink in the lower right corner.
About the artist:

His expressive, painterly prints often depict figures from contemporary history, music, and theater. His early works from the late 1990s are particularly sought after by collectors, as they mark the beginning of his significant international presence in the art market.
