Crafted circa 1950, the outdoor sculpture features a proud eagle standing on a naturalistic rocky base, with deeply molded feather details, strong talons, and a sharply defined beak. The commanding form gives the piece a stately architectural presence, making it an ideal focal point in a formal garden, beside a fountain, at the end of a walkway, or near an entrance.
The eagle rests on a separate round cast stone pedestal decorated with fluted side motifs and a carved architectural band around the lower section. The surface has developed a wonderful weathered patina from outdoor exposure, with soft gray tones, natural moss accents, and aged garden character throughout. Heavy and substantial, the two-piece statue has the authentic presence and texture expected from mid-century cast stone garden ornament. The composite garden statue is in excellent condition commensurate with age and outdoor use, with expected surface wear, weathering, and patina.
