Add a piece of mid-19th-century American history to your table setting or antique collection with this exceptional Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) spooner. Manufactured in 1858 by the renowned Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, this piece features the iconic "Cable" pattern—a historic design created to commemorate the laying of the Atlantic Telegraph Cable.
The vessel features prominent, deeply molded cable bands interspersed with smooth panels, rising up to a beautifully scalloped and flared rim adorned with stylized fan/shell motifs. The robust pedestal base is finished with a detailed, textured pattern along the foot, providing both striking elegance and stability.
Whether styled as a traditional spoon holder, repurposed as a unique vase for small floral arrangements, or displayed under ambient light to showcase its brilliant clarity, this 1850s treasure makes a sophisticated statement.
